Project's justification:

Romania is facing one of the most important development opportunities as the moment of accession to the European Union is approaching and as it gradually integrates in an increasingly globalised economy. The future of Romania is that of a dynamic, competitive and innovative economy, functioning in the economic, social and political structures of the European Union and of the world economy.

The present research Project intends to offer solutions for establishing national strategies and policies regarding Romania’s economic convergence to the European Union, for the increase of innovation, research and development contribution and for the consolidation of the knowledge based economy. With respect to this, the Project will analyze the role of macroeconomic policies and of the innovation, research and development sector in the process of economic growth, of increasing the competitiveness in a modern, knowledge-based economy. In elaborating this proposal the correlation of the subjects proposed by the members of the Consortium was ensured in order for the Project to represent a sigle entity which is consistent with the thematic area S/T.
